Sunday Life (and Food) Prep

Sunday’s probably my favorite day of the week.  It usually starts in slow-mo with LOTS of coffee.  After that, it’s all kinds of productivity: laundry, general tidying up, grocery shopping if I haven’t fit that in already, and the usual prep for the week ahead before I hit the hay early.  I know, it’s tough to be as cool as me.

So that’s basically what I did today, but one of the biggest things I do to prepare for a successful week is get my work bag in order.

It’s a little crazy on Monday mornings, because I take all of my breakfasts, lunches, and snacks for the week into work in giant Thirty One bag full of healthy choices for all the time I spend at work.  I’m lucky to be able to have a good size mini-fridge stashed under my desk, so I only have to take everything in once, and more importantly I’m able to keep options I really like.

Doing this has helped me to lose 13.6 pounds in the last 3 weeks (as of yesterday morning), so I thought I’d share what’s in the bag…

But more specifically, this is what’s in the work food prep bag this week….

Stuff and thaaaaaangs…

  • Sugar Free Jello – 0SP
  • Baby carrots (they pair with Opadipity chipotle ranch that’s still in the fridge at work) – 2T for 2SP
  • Berries, Yogurt, and Granola (my go-to work breakfast): 6SP
  • Clear American sparkling waters (yes, I know/don’t care about Aspartame) – 0SP
  • Thin Sliced turkey (goes with sandwich thins and thin sliced Swiss in my desk for an alternative to whatever I’ve packed and changed my mind on eating for lunch) – 1SP for 5 slices
  • Baby Bel light cheeses – 1SP

I also have a couple Lean Cuisines (5-8SP) in my desk for the days I don’t have leftovers for lunch, or if I want something different, and some La Croix sparkling waters to break up all the plain water I drink all day.

I don’t have the room in my points (or, realistically, the desire) to eat all of this in a day, but having options that allow me to be flexible without screwing up my plan and going over my points for the day.

Here’s how I plan for each week before time to actually prep…

So that’s my ubiquitous Erin Condren Life Planner.  It holds everything going on in my week.  This week is pretty bare, because I don’t fill in most of it until Sunday night.  As the week goes on, the left side is my grocery list, and jot meal ideas that catch my eye for the next week under the days of the week.  It also will hold allll my to-do’s for work, home, and my volunteer work.  By Friday, this thing’s full of organized chaos and a lot of check marks. Getting it started on Sunday lets me know what’s coming before I hit the door at work on Mondays.

How do you prep for your week?
